This 391.04 acre park features a variety of recreational opportunities. A 1.5 mile drive suitable for jogging and cycling winds through the park's open areas, pine woods, and lakes. With campgrounds tucked away in the center of the park, community events and special interest activities are often scheduled in open areas at the south end and at the large pavilion at the north end. Additionally, campers and visitors enjoy the two seasonally guarded swimming lakes, three small fishing lakes, an 18-hole disc golf course, archery range, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, dog park, and playground, as well as multipurpose and soccer fields. A .25 mile stationed exercise trail, 2,000 feet of nature trails, and horse trails invite exploration, with a horse stable and show ring for rental by equestrians.
The park office/visitors reception facility, a small community center, and a xeriscape garden are near the park entrance, with picnic tables and eight pavilions located throughout the park. A large pavilion with a banquet kitchen and seating capacity for up to 1,500 people is situated at the north end of the park adjacent to the community college parking area, and an amphitheater is centrally located near the campgrounds.
Wickham Park is a perfect base for families to enjoy not only the park, but to venture out to nearby Atlantic Ocean beaches, local restaurants, community theaters, nature preserves, and a multitude of other family attractions.
